A Christmas Tail

I loooove Cressida and was over the bloody moon when I found out she’d nabbed herself a book deal with Harper Collins – if anyone deserved it then it’s Cress! So with bundles of excitement I sat patiently waiting to find out what was going to come from the dream team. And, it turns out, something quite awesome!

A Christmas Tail was originally a bundle of  four ebook novellas called Wellies & Westies, Sunshine & Spaniels, Raincoats & Retrievers and Tinsel & Terriers but was thankfully compiled into one novel called A Christmas Tail! (I love being able to read them all in one go.) The covers for all the individual parts were gorgeous and I think the final cover is just perfect. Plus it sparkles!!! I read the first part and reviewed it here….but decided to wait until they were all bound together in one to read the rest.

A Christmas Tail follows the life of Cat Palmer who begins the novel losing her job at a school after bringing a puppy into work…whoops! Deciding that she wants to start up her own business, Cat begins to walk the dogs on her street, Primrose Terrace, and soon more and more people want to use her dog walking services. As the plot progresses we are introduced to a whole host of interesting and comical characters (and that’s just the dogs 😉 ).

I absolutely loved this story. It was so brilliant to go through the seasons with Cat in the lead up to the final part which is set around Christmas time. Whilst this novel isn’t completely Christmassy, you certainly leave the book with a gorgeous, warm festive feeling!

Cressy’s writing is so easy to read and get lost in. Often I found myself thinking ‘I’ll just read one more chapter’ and half the book later I’d still be reading! This is the perfect book to snuggle up reading by the fire over the Christmas holidays. The characters are so easy to fall in love with and you can’t help but spend your whole time rooting for Cat.

Perfect Christmas holiday reading!
